First, one must determine that it is legal to own a pig where you live and that a piglet is the right companion for you and you family. I do require documentation from your county, land lord or home owners association that you are approved to own a piglet and that the piglet may reside at the address on the contract.
Second, You and I will go over all our available piglets to choose the best piglet for you. We will look at Price, Size and Weight fully grown, Age, Color etc. Should you be local, piglet choice can be made in person. If you can make a road trip to visit, it is encouraged.
Third, I will ask for your full legal name, your physical address and your closest International Airport by email. Once I receive this, I will place a hold on the piglet of your choice for two days. I will send you our references as well as the contract on your piglet. During this two day period you will be expected to contact our references and review the contract. Please call with any questions you may have.
Fourth, At the end of this two day hold, payment is expected. It might be paid in full or it might be a payment plan that suits your budget.
Fifth, Once your piglet is paid in full, you will be sent our care information and the Vet appointment to spay or neuter your piglet will be made. Females can be spayed at 12 weeks of age and males can be neutered at 6 weeks of age. Your piglet will fly out to you following an appropriate recovery time.
Sixth, Piglets are shipped Via United Airline Pet Safe Program on Fridays. You will receive your piglets flight Itinerary the Wednesday Preceding the Friday your piglet is due to be shipped, per Vet Approval.
Seventh, You will receive by email a Recap on what is required at your piglet's first Vet visit and when this visit should be scheduled.
Eighth, When you receive your piglet at the Airport, you are to notify TLC Piglets that you have received your piglet and the condition of your piggy upon arrival. You may do this with a phone call or a Text. This is the ONLY time a TEXT will be accepted. All other correspondence must be by email. This is how we keep a record and a history on your piglet.
Ninth, One week from arrival, you will have you first Vet appointment.
Tenth, you will send us your first Monthly Monitoring report two weeks after receiving your piglet, BY EMAIL.
Eleventh, You call me anytime, You continue your monthly monitoring for a year, then bi monthly the second year. I work for the Piglet first. So I stick with you for the long haul.
Where there is a piglet who has no voice ...there I shall go singing!!

My experience with our pig “Meatball” and dealing with Trace has been beyond positive. They are completely professional and are ALWAYS responsive to my calls and questions. Meatball is fantastic!!! Sleeps in bed with us every night, was litter box trained in 4 days, was NO problem to train him to do his business outside when he was old enough, is supper intelligent, and loves people (especially children) and dogs. I did a tremendous amount of homework and called on numerous references before finally choosing Trace and TLC. If you choose to adopt a piglet from TLC you’re making the right choice. I was pleasantly surprised at their professionalism and how much they care. There was NEVER a time that Trace did not immediately respond to me.
Good luck and feel free to contact me.

Hortence AKA Ellie is amazing! From the moment I picked her up at the airport, we connected. I was shocked at how tiny she was and hearing her little grunts, I couldn't wait to get her out of her carrier! As soon as we got in the car, she drank water and
nibbled on some of her pellets. She sat calmly on my lap the whole ride home. Just as predicted by Trace, on her first night home she slept in her litter box! I had a little trouble getting her to go potty in the correct spot for her first day or two at home, but once I took Trace's advice by using wood pellets as her litter instead of ripped up newspaper, there was immediate success! She knows exactly where to potty and is very proud of herself every time I praise her for a great job! Ellie is a doll. She loves getting her belly scratched, napping on my lap, and putting her little snout against my nose. My vet says she is the tiniest and best looking mini pig he's ever seen. She was only 4.2 lbs at our first visit! Ellie is adapting wonderfully into my home and bonding with myself and my two dogs. She is worth every second of the wait and I fall more and more in love every single day.
OCTOBER 2012 TESTIMONIAL:
I've been giving you a glowing reference.
Here is a testimonial of my experience
I purchased my TLC piglet about a month ago and it has been an incredible experience so far. It should be noted that TLC Piglets. After losing my Italian Greyhound, Penny, after fourteen years, I was not ready to move into my own place without a special companion. I knew I could never replace her with another dog and family cat allergies were also an issue. Then I saw a mini pig on television and started my research. After speaking to multiple sellers, I decided that I wanted to purchase my piglet from TLC Piglets. Trace prepared me completely before bringing home my piglet, which I know started him and I out on the right foot... Or in his case, hoof.
The woman at the airport said that he was 'as quiet as a church mouse' when he got off the airplane. He did a few small oinks on the way home. At this point, I have learned to identify what he wants by the type of noises he makes!
Edgar (previously known as Becker) is now litter box trained, walks on a harness and leash, and goes to obedience training. He sits on command after just three days and I use a 'clicker' with training. My plan for him is to become a therapy animal so he already very well socialized with children and adults. He plays with my parents dogs and chases them around the yard.
Since his arrival he has seen all of the weather New England has to offer. As long as he has on his sweater he does not seem to mind!
Edgar's first vet check up went smoothly and agreed that I got very lucky to have purchased him from a responsible breeder.
