According to Wikipedia .....The world's smallest pig is believed to be the 28 inches (71 cm) long wild pygmy hog, an endangered species which lives in wildlife sanctuaries in Assam, India
Country of Origin: The Pug is also known as the ‘Carlin’, ‘Mops’ (the nameof Marie Antoinette’s Pug), or ‘Chinese Pug’. ‘Pug’ derives either from theLatin for ‘fist’ (referring to the Pug face’s resemblance to a clenched fist)or the Old English ‘Pugg’ for ‘playful little monkey’ (deriving from ‘Puck’, asin Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’). Unlike other toy breeds, the Pug descends from mastiffs. It was originally bred as an Emperor’s pet in China during the Shangdynasty (1766-1122 B.C.) and became a popular pet for Tibetan monks.

It has a large, spherical head with big eyes, small ‘rose’ (folded toward the muzzle) or ‘button’ (folded at ninety degrees)ears, slight underbite, deeply wrinkled forehead, and a distinctly short, square muzzle. Pugs have a compact, muscular body with arched neck, deep chest, and tail curled tightly over the back.

Other Houshold Pets
Do pigs get along with other houshold pets?
Yes, though over the years there have been we have seen and heard of various pet friendships, pigs seem to prefer gental larger breed dogs.
Allergies
We have problems with allergies in our family. Do pet pigs have fur or dander?
Actually Pigs are one of your best options when allergies are a concern.
Pigs are HypoAllergenic. They have hair " But" they do not shed.
Pigs skin is some what sensitive to dry weather. A little lotion may be needed occationally.
Potty Training
We would love to have a piglet in the house with us? Where do they use the restroom?
Pigs are quite particular about that subject and even smarter about it. Pigs will easily self train in a low lipped litter box just like a cat. On the other hand pigs are happy to use a doggie door just like a dog.
